Penpal Projects

Once again this year we have partnered up with the Churchill Bulldogs from Winnipeg for penpals. These students are in Grade 10. We have been exchanging letters since January and will be meeting up in early June to meet each other and have a BBQ. We have lined up a few projects to complete together. Collecting drink tabs is one of the projects and we are looking to take them to a recycling depot and make the donation. We would like to also create an awareness of the diverse cultures within both classrooms by creating a small recipe book using recipes students have collected that reflect their cultural background or heritage and will be attempting to create a cultural quilt. Each student will have a square patch of cloth and are encouraged to use symbols, colors and images to represent who they are.
